Firmament sets your birth chart, also called a natal chart, against a field of constellations, the old figures the zodiac signs took their names from. The wheel sits solid and black at the center, with every sign named in full rather than left as symbol, so it reads from across the room. For people who want the poster to be a piece of art first and a document second.

The wheel shows all twelve houses and signs, the ten planets plus Chiron, the North Node and Lilith, and every major aspect between them. Your Rising sign is marked at AC, where the first house begins. Below the wheel: your Big Three (Sun, Moon and Rising), a full table of planetary positions to the degree and minute, and your elemental balance across fire, earth, air and water, counted from the ten planets.

Positions are calculated with the Swiss Ephemeris using Placidus houses and the tropical zodiac, the standard professional astrologers work from. It’s a custom star chart in the literal sense: no two are alike unless two people were born in the same minute in the same place.

Each birth chart poster is printed on demand on 200 gsm matte paper. Available in portrait and landscape, in two sizes: 12 × 16 in (30 × 40 cm) and 18 × 24 in (45 × 60 cm).

Questions

Do I need my exact birth time?
Yes, we need it to cast your exact chart. The Rising sign and houses move about a degree every four minutes. If you don’t know it, see how to find your birth time.
Where do you ship your posters?
Posters ship to the countries listed on our Where we sell & ship page. Shipping is free. Some posters are shipped from abroad, and import taxes may then be charged on delivery. They are paid by the recipient. The page shows where this applies.
When does my poster arrive?
Each poster is custom-made. Estimated delivery is 8–13 days or 2–6 weeks, depending on your country, counted in calendar days from the day you order. Your country’s estimate is on our Where we sell & ship page and at checkout. When your poster ships, we email you the tracking details.
How are the posters packaged, and are they ready to hang?
Unframed prints arrive rolled in a protective tube, ready for a standard frame. Framed posters arrive boxed, with corner protection and a hanging kit, ready to hang straight out of the box.
What are the paper and frame made of?
Posters are printed on 200 gsm (80 lb) FSC-certified matte paper, smooth and non-reflective. Our frames are made of durable pine wood and come in natural wood or painted white, black or umber. Each frame has shatterproof plexiglass to protect the poster. Depending on the poster size, frames are 0.79–0.98 in (20–25 mm) thick and 0.4–0.6 in (10–14 mm) wide.
Can I change my details after ordering?
Usually not. Each poster is printed from the proof you approved and goes to print soon after you order. If you spot a mistake, contact us right away and we’ll do what we can, but once it has gone to print we can’t change it. A mistake that was on the proof you approved isn’t reprinted for free, so please check the name, date, time and place on the proof before you add it to the cart.
Can I return my personalized poster?
No. Each poster is custom-made from your own birth data, so it can’t be resold. If it arrives damaged or faulty, or doesn’t match the proof you approved, we will reprint it for free or give you a full refund, whichever you prefer. Just email us within 14 days of delivery, with photos of the poster and its packaging.
Is a natal chart the same as a birth chart?
Yes. Astrologers say “natal chart”, the professional term, while most people say “birth chart”. Both mean the layout of the sky, with the positions of the planets and other points, at the minute and place you were born.
