Dagaz
Daybreak – breakthrough, clarity, and the light after a long dark.

Upright
Dagaz is day, and specifically daybreak: the moment night turns over into morning, the hinge itself, when the direction of everything reverses while nothing visible has yet moved. That gap between the turn and the evidence for it is where this rune lives. Night becomes day and never the other way around, which is why it has no reversed reading.
When it comes up, a threshold is being crossed. Sudden clarity, a hopeful turn, the end of a dark stretch and the first real light of a new one. This is transformation of the welcome kind: an awakening, a realization, a shift in awareness that changes how everything looks without anything external having moved.
Dagaz sits at the balance point between opposites and tips them toward the good: despair into hope, confusion into understanding, stillness into movement. When it lands, step into the new day. Act on the fresh understanding while it is sharp, and take care not to drag the darkness of the old phase into the light of the one replacing it. That is the only way this rune gets wasted.
A breakthrough in understanding, or the end of a difficult stretch. Something clarifies. Act on the new understanding rather than waiting until you feel certain enough to be safe.
A turning point in your favor: an insight, an opening, an obstacle dissolving. Move on it while the clarity lasts rather than waiting around for further confirmation. Openings under this rune tend to close as quickly as they appeared.
Act on the thing that became clear recently, today. Insight has a short shelf life if nothing is done with it.
Merkstave (reversed)
Dagaz is the same either way up, so it never lands reversed: a draw shows it upright, always. Where it turns difficult is in what the daylight reveals: a breakthrough arriving before anyone is ready for it, and the light falling on exactly what you would rather not have seen.
