Sowilo

Sowilo is the sun, and not as decoration. It is the thing sailors steered by before instruments existed, the fixed point that made crossing open water survivable at all. Wholeness, energy, and light, but specifically the light you navigate by rather than the light you sit around in. It is also the least ambiguous rune in the set.

When it comes up, it is among the most favorable draws in the set. Obstacles clear, energy returns, and the way forward becomes visible. This rune speaks of health, confidence, and victory that was worked for: the goal reached, the illness broken, the confusion burned off. It often marks the return of vitality after a depleted stretch.

There is also guidance in it, which is easy to overlook under the good news. The sun is what you orient by, not just what warms you. When it lands, move while the light is good. Energy and clarity rarely arrive together, and when they do the sensible response is to commit to the goal and act, not to admire the weather until it changes.

Sowilo is the same either way up, so it never lands reversed: a draw shows it upright, always. Where it turns difficult is in too much light: confidence that scorches, a pace that burns through its own fuel, a glare bright enough to hide the thing you needed to see.
