Upright
Uruz is the aurochs, the wild ox that once ranged across northern Europe: enormous, untamed, and hunted by men who wanted to prove something. That is the rune exactly. It is not refined power or borrowed authority: it is the raw, physical kind that exists before anyone has decided what to do with it.
When it comes up, a large flow of energy has entered the picture: an opening at work, a return of health, a stretch where stamina holds and obstacles give way to sheer force. Uruz also speaks about potential, and it speaks bluntly. There tends to be more capacity here than is currently being used. If difficulty is coming, and this rune often means it is, the promise is that there will be enough to meet it.
But raw power carries no direction of its own, and that is where the work sits. When it lands, aim it before you spend it: one goal chosen deliberately, rather than five pursued at half strength. Let go of the familiar role, the familiar habits, the familiar shape of things. Uruz does not reward caution. It rewards decisive movement toward something worth the force.
Attraction here is direct rather than subtle, and the rune favors saying plainly what you want. Bring your full energy to whoever this is about, instead of holding half of it back and calling it caution.
A surge of opportunity and the stamina to take it: a promotion, a demanding project, a chance to prove capability. Back yourself. Money responds to bold, well-aimed effort under this rune rather than to careful preservation.
Pick the hardest thing on your list and do that one first today. Energy is the resource here. Spend it on something that actually matters.
Merkstave (reversed)
Uruz reversed is power gone wrong in one of two opposite directions. At one edge it is force without control: aggression where finesse was needed, a will so fixed on winning that it runs over the thing it was meant to protect.
At the other edge it is strength that never quite arrives: low energy, poor timing, an opportunity fumbled through hesitation. You may feel overpowered by circumstances rather than equal to them, or find that what once took effort now takes everything. Either way the raw capacity is still present. What has failed is the aim, or the fuel.
Work out which edge you are standing on, because the two need opposite answers. If the problem is force, slow down and choose a smaller target. If the problem is depletion, stop spending and rebuild before committing to anything. Uruz has no patience with the attempt to push through on an empty tank, and it tends to make that attempt expensive.
Force where patience was needed, or a connection running on empty. Check which one is happening. The first asks you to soften the approach; the second asks you to rest before trying again.
Effort may be going in without results, or ambition may be running over people who matter. Neither is solved by working harder. Identify which is happening and change the approach rather than the intensity.
Do not force anything today. If something resists, put it down and return with a different angle rather than more weight behind it.
